The Full Gospel Tabernacle Story

Full Gospel Tabernacle was born, in February 1981, to be a testimony to the local community in Petaling Jaya. It was the second charismatic church to be established in Malaysia following the start of the charismatic movement here during the mid 1970s. Back then, the leadership comprised a small group of young adults, who had little money but a great passion for the Word of God, and a passionate desire to win and disciple many people for Christ.
The church had its first meeting in the home of Eu Hong Seng and Gaik Sim in SS2, Petaling Jaya beginning one of the most exciting journeys of faith of any Christian church in Malaysian history! From an initial group of 30 people, and much prayer, the church grew rapidly, soon having to secure a nearby shop-lot to accommodate its growth. This soon became nine shop-lots in Damansara Jaya before the worship service was moved to Kolej Damansara Utama (KDU) auditorium in 1995. |
Then, on 2 February 2002, twenty-one years after its first meeting, FGT dedicated its own premises in USJ Subang Jaya. Photos on right show WISMA EAGLES: the current home of the Eagles, illustrating our building project from design to full realization. The work has now expanded to nine branch churches (including one in London, England) and four language works(Mandarin, Tamil, Bahasa Malaysia and Filipino). By the grace and favour of God, FGT was one of the founding members of the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship [NECF] (the umbrella body for Evangelical Christians in Malaysia). The church was also involved in pioneering the ministries of Evangelism Explosion [EE] and Tung Ling Seminary [TLS] in Malaysia. |
 Thanks to the grace of God, FGT celebrated its 25th anniversary on 25 February 2006.
From its very humble beginnings, where members sat on newspapers covering a bare cement floor, to its current modern facility, FGT has, for 28 years, consistently borne witness to the incredible faithfulness of God. |
