Training
Training is another vital aspect of our overall ministry. We believe that God wants to equip us as disciples of Jesus Christ who can in turn disciple others. To help us achieve this Biblical goal [2 Timothy 2:2] we offer the following courses:
V101 Discovering Church Membership
The church is a family, and God expects everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour to be a member of a church family. A Christian without a church family, therefore, is a contradiction in terms!
The goal of this class is to help people understand what is means to commit oneself to Jesus Christ and to the Full Gospel Tabernacle family. In order to do this, the course covers four important areas: Our Salvation [in Jesus Christ], Our Statements [What FGT believes], Our Strategy [Where FGT is going] and Our Structure [How FGT is organised]. This helps to ensure that we have a common understanding of what we believe and why we do the things we do.
V201 Discovering Spiritual Maturity
It is God’s will that we grow up and mature as believers in Jesus Christ. We are not meant to remain as spiritual babies. Once born, we must grow up! The focus of this class is the Four Basic Habits every Christian needs to develop in order to grow to spiritual maturity. The class will equip you with the skills you need to begin these good habits and the tools you will need to continue these habits once established.
V215 Pre-Marital Course
Open to all who are thinking about getting married, this seminar helps couples prepare for marriage God’s way! During the seminar the couple actively participate in discussions with each other concerning several key areas that may present difficulties in the future, including: expectations, communication, finances, in-laws and conflict resolution.
V216 Marriage Enrichment
Typically held once every two years, this class is conducted by mature and godly Christian couples. At the seminar married couples are taught (or reminded!) about the Biblical concept of marriage, as well as scriptural truths and principles that will help them to strengthen their marriage.
V217 Christian Parenting
Conducted periodically, this seminar seeks to help participants to be more successful parents by helping them understand what the Bible says they should and should not do when raising their children. The seminar also includes practical advice on the spiritual training and healthy emotional development of their children from birth through to adolescence.
V301 Discovering My Ministry
Your ministry is determined by your “make-up”. What God made you to BE determines what He intends for you to DO. This class will take you through the process of identifying your spiritual “S.H.A.P.E” and help you to begin serving God.
V302 Leadership Training Program
Designed for all who wish to grow in leadership or be involved in serving God in FGT, this course covers the “5S’ of leadership: Self Development, Shepherding, Skills Development, the Spirit Man and the Servant’s Role.
V305 Follow-Up Clinic
This two-day course seeks to develop in mature Christians a heart to care for new converts and equips attendees for one-to-one follow up with new believers. The course also covers the 10 essentials of implementing one-to-one follow up in the church.
V306 Cell Leaders’ Training
Conducted only for potential Cell Leaders and team members, this course outlines the requirements and responsibilities of a Cell Leader. It also gives practical ministry tips to would be Cell Leaders on how to run a cell.
V308 Hearing The Call For Full-Time Ministry
This course covers 7 ways to hear your full-time call, 23 practical tips to help you prepare to take up your full-time call, as well as 5 video testimonies from seasoned ministers like Colin Hurt, Terry Appel, Neal Patterson, Kindah Greening and Dennis Balcombe concerning their experience of full-time Christian work.
V401 Discovering My Life Mission
“Discovering My Life Mission” is designed to equip and empower members for world missions. It is more than a class, it’s a call to serve God on a wider scale and an encouragement to get out of your comfort zone to reach others with the Gospel.
