My name is Jenny Liew. I am the Children’s Church pastor in the main church. This coming 15 Jan 2015 I would have completed 20 years of fulltime service in FGT! I feel so blessed to be serving God full time because
(1) I see the fruits of my service in the changed lives of the children. Many who were saved, followed up and trained by me are still found in church. The most beautiful part is that some of them are leaders in church today!
(2) I have the joy of being used by God to invest early in the lives of children and youths even though it may be difficult sometimes. But if we train them young for Jesus, they are less likely to go astray (Proverbs 22:6).
(3) I grow to trust Him more through the challenges of life. Serving God is not always smooth and I go through all the struggles of life like any working person, such as family issues, financial struggle, security problem, health problem and loneliness. But I am blessed because God is with me and has helped me through as I trust in Him.
My verse of the year is Deut 31:6 “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, he is the One who goes with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
(4) I have learnt and unlearnt many life lessons especially through the Super zone class (Learning disability class). Through them God has taught me many times to be bold and simple like little children and be guided by Him.
(5) I experience His providence. Even though I am far from rich, I have no lack. I can even have the privilege to give to the Building Fund. I have also enjoyed His providence where with sufficient funds (and faith!) I was able to buy my own apartment!
Really, all I can say is that it is because of His grace that I am blessed. Glory to Him!
