The Church You Can Call ‘Home’

Tsunami Of Change

By : Rev Eu Hong Seng

The results of the 12th General Election of Malaysia was beyond the imagination of most Malaysians. It surprised almost everyone. Hence it has been rightly labeled the “tsunami of change”.

So much have been said and written with regards to the causes of the overwhelming victory for the Opposition. But I believe the greatest cause was the prayers of His people.

When change is needed in the earth, God releases a burden to His people. When we respond to that call, we begin to see a shift in the earth’s atmosphere to reflect the will of heaven. It causes God’s plan to begin to manifest.

The church in this nation responded to God’s burden for change in our nation. The people cried out against the corruption, injustice and repression of those in power and God heard our cries.

Moses’ prayer changed the destiny of a nation. Jesus told the story of the persistent widow and the persistent neighbor for a reason. Prayer changes things, no matter how big or small.

The exhortation to the church to pray for good government is inexplicably linked to the advance of the Kingdom of God. The church can influence the destiny of our nation.

The spiritual changes needed in this nation will not be found in Parliament but in the House of Prayer.

Our nation is on the threshold of change such as we have never seen before. Now what we need is sustained prayer. Without sustained prayer the process of transformation will be aborted. We have come to a new season in our nation’s history and I urge every believer in FGT to take ownership of the destiny of our nation by praying.

Have you prayed for your country, the government and its leaders today?
