An Unlikely Place
How likely is it for anyone to share God’s love with anyone at an official event and pray with them to receive eternal life? I would assume not. But I was proven wrong again by our mighty God.
Recently I had the opportunity to be the emcee of a launch event. During lunch the conversation of spiritual awareness was brought up by a business friend. Despite not being prepared psychologically to share, the conversation naturally flowed into a sharing on God’s gift of eternal life for us; all this amidst the music and yum-seng-ing. It was truly not the best time and place to share spiritual matters. There were waiters serving food, people singing karaoke on stage and me having to emcee at the same time!
My heart was praying hard for the Holy Spirit to speak to my business friend. He listened attentively and felt EE’s way was not pushy like he has normally encountered.
And though there were too many distractions around, I asked if he would want to receive the gift of eternal life, and —- voila he said “Yes”! We stepped out of the event to do the clarification and later on prayed together in the VIP holding room! Praised the Lord!
I did not have the “Partners in Growing’ that day only because it is too heavy for me to carry (which obviously was a wrong decision!), so I could not give it to him. But I told him some one would call him to follow up.
I was in such disbelief and felt a bit lost as to what to do next. And the all knowing God sent a confirmation of this divine appointment — a friend’s brother happens to work in the company that organized the event! After telling him about what happened, he suggested for me to invite my friend to FGT.
So, once again God has shown me in Him anything is possible. I am glad to share God’s goodness and gift with my new friend. To Him be the Glory.
