The Church You Can Call ‘Home’

Walking on Streets of Gold

This testimony is about my aunty. Many times she had visited me and I had shared God’s love with her. She had passed her three scores and ten and living in her bonus years.

Deep inside me, I told myself that I must share God’s love with this old dear once more and lead her to the sinner’s pray in Hokkien. I did and she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. I reminded her that from now onwards, she should not use joss sticks and pray to her previous gods anymore.

It happened like this…After her 80th birthday, she was admitted to Sentosa Hospital, Kuala Lumpur.  I arranged for the Hokkien pastor to visit her. On 18th March, 1997 (Friday), together with the pastor, two church sisters and I visited her at Sentosa Hospital and prayed for her.

Then on 22nd March, 1997 (Saturday), my aunty passed away in the afternoon. That night, I was restless and was asking myself was she really saved?  Then I asked God if she is in heaven, please show me some evidence.

God’s love was really great and He gave me a dream. I saw my aunty calling me in a very cute way which she used to call me. She was very excited and was thanking me profusely, and telling me how beautiful heaven was. She repeated the words ‘beautiful’ and ‘thank you’ many times. There, I saw her walking on streets of gold.

Brothers and sisters, the streets of this world are laid with tar but the streets of heaven are laid with gold, as mentioned in the Bible.

Brothers and sisters, those who have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please do not wait.  As the saying goes…time and tide waits for no man.

I thank and praise God that this old dear is in Heaven enjoying every minutes of her new abode!
