Sharmaine Hi, I am Sharmaine. That’s me between my mom, Vivian and sister, Sharlene :-). Miracles do happen… it is true & real. I know this as many miracles happened in my life. My mum always says that my everyday is already a miracle itself!

Our LORD and Saviour chose me & gave me back my life. Otherwise, I would not be here to share this with you.

The first miracle happened when I was 4. I was diagnosed with brain tumour at the age of 3+. The tumour was big. The doctor said if it’s not removed, I may collapse anytime; go into coma or even die. But the surgery is risky as the tumour sat right on my pituitary gland. (a pea sized gland which is the endocrine organ which produces hormones that controls various important functions like growth, muscles, kidney etc) The surgery took 8 hours. But the doctor was unable to remove the entire tumour as it was too risky. I woke up and was able to eat and play as normal. I was to go home the next day when I suddenly had fits. My brain swelled and there was water retention in my brain. I was unconscious and and the doctor said if I remained unconscious for 48 hours, I would be a vegetable. My mum was a Buddhist. She would always ask her friends not to preach to her. While I was in ICU, some Christians came to pray for the guy next to my bed. They asked if they could pray for me and my mum said yes. They came every evening to pray for me. Then just 20 minutes to the 48th hour, I woke up and told my mum I was hungry! However, after the fits, I lost my vision completely. Once I recovered, we went to church in Singapore every Sunday. It was then that my mum accepted Christ.

The 2nd miracle happened when I was 5. Since the surgery, I would play the Don Moen video every day. One day after school, while lying down “watching” Don Moen, I asked my grandma, “Mama, is Don Moen the guy in red tie & blue shirt?” My mama cried with joy! The next day in school, my teacher took me to the store room to get some balls for P.E. When she switched on the light, I asked “Mrs Chuah, did you switch on the light?” My teacher was so excited she called my mum immediately. She was crying & praising God when she told my mum what took place.

The 3rd miracle happened when I was 6. I went through 5 surgeries. 4 major open brain surgeries and 1 minor. My tumour grew again when I was 6+. This time, the surgery took 18 hours. But God is good. My tumour was completely removed! And I still have my sight!!

Miracle number 4! In one of the surgery, the doctor did not stitch the cut on my abdomen completely and I was bleeding. It was 4am in the morning; my mum called for the doctor who only came in at 6am. Throughout the 2 hours, mum had to press on the wound with a towel! I believe God had woken my mum up!

Miracle Number 5! We were swimming in a pool. I took the water slide. I went down the deep end and I would have drowned if not for this lady who saw me struggling and pulled me up. I accepted Jesus Christ when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I feel His presence in church, during my quiet time. It is a wonderful supernatural feeling that I cannot describe. I know God has a purpose and mission for me. That is why He put so many people in my path to help and bless me. I want to be a living testimony for God and to be used as a vessel for His glory!
